Therefore, the two-pipe fan coil can only operate in either heating or cooling mode, and simultaneous operation in both modes is not possible. Four-pipe: In this type of fan coil, there are two separate coils for hot and cold water. Consequently, the four-pipe fan coil can perform heating and cooling simultaneously. The fan coil (FCU) includes a fan that draws air into a space and then blows it through a cooling or heating system. The air that exits the ground fan coil is usually warmer or cooler than before. The most common application of this type of fan coil is in commercial and office buildings. However, they can also be used in small spaces and locations that require individual control.
